Barrow Borough Council currently has two Parish and one Town Council and would like to consider whether to create any more, particularly for the town of Barrow. This is in the context of the decision of the Secretary of State to create two new Unitary Authorities within Cumbria. To create a new Town or Parish Council, the Borough Council must undertake a Community Governance Review (CGR).
The Shadow Authority has considered the conclusions of the Community Governance Review and the Borough Council's recommendations and has made the Order. Click here to view the details of the Westmorland and Furness (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 2022.
