Community Assets

Since the Localism Act 2011 came into effect on 21st September 2012 the government have given communities the legal power to put a proposal together if an asset (which is listed) comes up for sale within six months.

Within the Localism Act 2011 it is essential to maintain a register of landholdings in the Borough that are of 'community value' - where the asset advances the social interests of the local community or the social wellbeing.
