Cemeteries

Crematorium
The crematorium was originally opened in 1962, in 2016 it underwent a major refurbishment modernising the chapel and incorporating the cemetery office and their staff.
Cemetery & Crematorium Guidelines
The Crematorium is a member of the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (F.B.C.A.) which issues strict guidelines (Code of Cremation Practice) to which the Crematorium adheres.

Due to the current situation with the coronavirus outbreak the decision has been made to close the Cemetery Office and Barrow Grounds to the general public. Other cemetery grounds are still open during normal opening hours.

It is always advisable to ring and check that someone is available to see you as we are only a small team we often have to close to attend funerals.

Cemetery Grounds

The Cemetery grounds are open every day. The gates at Dalton are open between the hours of 8.00am and 8.30pm from 1st April to 31st October and between 8.00am and 6.30pm from 1st November to 31st March.

Barrow grounds are currently closed to the public.

To assist the elderly and disabled, vehicular access is permissible. However, we would ask you to respect any funerals which are in progress and avoid causing an obstruction.
