Registering to Vote
To vote in the UK Parliamentary General Election on Thursday 12th December, 2019 you needed to have made a registration by midnight (11:59pm) on Tuesday 26th November, 2019.

The closing date to apply for a postal vote in the above Election was 5:00pm on Tuesday 26th November, 2019.
The closing date to apply for a proxy vote in the above Election was 5:00pm on Wednesday 4th December, 2019.
EMERGENCY PROXY VOTE APPLICATIONS - after 5.00 p.m. on the closing date for receipt of Proxy applications
There are now two categories for Emergency Proxy Vote Applications which are:-
1. Medical Emergency - Where someone has become ill, admitted to hospital, receives a hospital appointment etc; or
2. Occupation, Service or Employment - Where someone is called away for work reasons.
Both of the above types of applications have to be countersigned by an appropriate person before returning to Electoral Services - details are on the forms. Applications made under 'Medical Emergency' need to be signed by a Doctor or Nurse and applications made under 'Occupation' need to be signed by your Employer.

Completed application forms for Emergency Proxies must be received in the Electoral Services Office by no later than 5:00pm on the Election day in order to be valid for the Election in question and to vote on the day.
Your application form must also be received and approved before you can go to the Polling Station to vote and you will be contacted about this.
