MERCHANT NAVY DAY MEMORIAL SERVICE - MONDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER, 2018

The Mayor of Barrow, Councillor Bill McEwan has organised a Memorial Service for those who served and died in the Merchant Navy during periods of conflict.  A short memorial service will be held in the Banqueting Hall at the Town Hall on Monday 3rd September, 2018 commencing at 11 am

Bill McEwan said 'I extend an open invitation to people to join us on this important occasion.  We should never forget those members of the Merchant Navy who made the ultimate sacrifice, nor those who survived the various conflicts whilst serving their country'.

Merchant Navy Day is 3rd September each year - the Red Ensign Flag will be flown above the Town Hall as a mark of respect.
