Appointment of Member of Independent Remuneration Panel

APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER OF INDEPENDENT REMUNERATION PANEL

Two vacancies have arisen on the Council’s Independent Remuneration Panel.

The Council is required, under The Local Authority (Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 to establish a Panel of not less than three members to make recommendations to the Council on the allowances to be paid to Council members.

Applications are therefore invited from persons interested who can uphold personal integrity, absorb key information and can instil public confidence in the process of making recommendations on allowances.

To be eligible applicants must not be a councillor, a close friend or relation of any councillor.

This is not a salaried position, although out of pocket expenses can be claimed where appropriate.  The appointment will be on a fixed term basis for five years.

There is no formal application form although persons interested are invited to write a letter of application to the Executive Director at the address below.

The closing date for receipt of application letters is 15 th December 2017.
