Struggling to open a bank account?

Struggling to open a bank account

ARE YOU A COUNCIL TENANT WHO’S STRUGGLED IN THE PAST TO OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT?

We can now help!

With Post Office card accounts due to end November, 2021 if your housing benefit is paid into a Post Office card account you will have to open a bank account. Likewise, if you want to pay your rent by direct debit you have to have a bank account.

If you’ve struggled in the past to open a bank account because for example you’ve no ID or you’re no-fixed abode – we’re pleased to say that we can now help. HSBC is working with us and can offer a service to our tenants which will enable you to open a bank account.

The whole process is very simple and our officers will guide you through each step of the way - even going with you to the bank.

The accounts are basic current accounts with a visa debit card. There will be no borrowing allowed on the account.
