Fly Posting - Report Fly Posting Online

It is our intention to try to stop illegal fly posting like the ones shown below:
Flyposting on a billboard.
The problem arises on disused advertising and empty shop fronts.

Perpetrators

These are mainly entertainment venues and promoters.

The Law

It is illegal under the Advertisement Regulations to fly post on private property and under the provisions of Highway Law on Structures, Paving and Street Furniture within the Public Highway.  The Highways are controlled by Cumbria County Council see the address below.  The A590 at the roundabout East of Oaklea Road is controlled by the Highways Agency.  We, as a Council, attempt to secure the removal of the Fly Posting and advise the venue that if further incidents occur we will prosecute.

'A' Boards

The placing of 'A' boards within the Town Centre, i.e. Dalton Road and pavements are covered by Highways legislation which is administered by Cumbria Highways.
