REVIEW OF POLLING DISTRICTS, POLLING PLACES AND POLLING STATIONS 2011

The Electoral Registration Act 2006 requires all local authorities to review their polling districts, polling places and polling stations.

We are looking for feedback on any aspect of polling districts and/or polling places currently used and invite representation and comments from interested persons.

Local political parties and Councillors will be consulted and views are invited from electors within the Parliamentary Constituency Barrow and Furness as well as persons who may have particular expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons with disability.  Local community groups will also be consulted.

Further information regarding the current polling districts and places is available from the Elections Office at Barrow Town Hall, Duke Street, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, LA14 2LD Tel:- (01229) 876318 from 31st October 2011.

The review will commence on 31st October 2011 and any representations or comments should be sent in writing to the Returning Officer at the above address by 2nd December 2011 or by email to elecreg@barrowbc.gov.uk.
