General Arrangements

The Borough of Barrow-in-Furness provides Dial-a-Ride concessionary passes to elderly and disabled residents of the Borough where passes for Stagecoach services are not appropriate.

Who is eligible?

 
Residents of the Borough who:
  • qualify for, but do not hold a Senior Citizen’s or disability bus pass.
  • hold a Senior Citizen’s bus pass and are over 75.
  • use a wheelchair.
  • use an electric scooter and can transfer to a bus seat.
  • use walking aids.
  • is a specified companion of an eligible person.

Terms and Conditions

The pass allows travel by Dial-a-Ride within the Borough.
 
The area is bounded by Walney Boundary, Holbeck Boundary, Rampside Boundary, Ireleth Boundary and Dalton Boundary.
 

How do I obtain my Dial-a-Ride pass?

You can apply for your Dial-a-Ride pass by reporting to the Central Reception Desk in Barrow Town Hall or telephone 01229 876425.
 
For enquiries about Dial-a-Ride passes please ring The Town Hall on 876425 or Dial-a-Ride on 828500.

You can also apply online.  You will receive a copy of the details you have submitted via  email (in PDF format).  You will need to print and sign the form and send it to the address provided ( or bring it to the Central Reception desk at the Town Hall. Apply on-line now for Membership of the Dial A Ride scheme.

If you are unable to use this on-line application form, or do not have an email address, you may download the Dial a Ride application form (PDF 32kb) for printing and manual completion. You will need to complete and sign the form and send it to the address provided (or bring it to the Central Reception desk at the Town Hall).
