General Arrangements

From 1st April 2011 Barrow Borough Council no longer administers the concessionary travel passes. It is now Cumbria County Council who are responsible for the concessionary bus pass and Ring and Ride services.

Passes for the Borough are issued at the Ramsden Square library.
 

Who is eligible?

 
Residents of the Borough who:
  • qualify for, but do not hold a Senior Citizen’s or disability bus pass.
  • hold a Senior Citizen’s bus pass and are over 75.
  • use a wheelchair.
  • use an electric scooter and can transfer to a bus seat.
  • use walking aids.
  • is a specified companion of an eligible person.

Terms and Conditions

The pass allows travel by Ring and Ride within the Borough.
 
The area is bounded by Walney Boundary, Holbeck Boundary, Rampside Boundary, Ireleth Boundary and Dalton Boundary.
 

How do I obtain my Ring and Ride pass?

You can apply for your Ring and Ride pass either on line at the Cumbria County Council web site at the web address given above which provides full details of who is eligible, what documentation is required etc., or telephoning Cumbria County Council on 01228 606060 or telephoning the Ramsden Square library on 01229 407370.
