New Web Mapping Service

Barrow Council have now launched their new web mapping service which is based on Open Source technologies. The service while now live will be changing rapidly as more information and functionality is added. Included is the current 2009 Aerial Photography which can found under the base maps section. It is tested and with the following internet browsers Firefox 3+, Internet Explorer 8, Chrome 3+ and Safari 3+. It may work with older browsers but speed will be impaired. To work JavaScript will need to be enabled within your browser.

A twitter site has been set up which will be updated regularly with news on new information and enhancements to the service.
