One of the largest Markets in Cumbria, Barrow Indoor Market has over 60 independent traders stalls offering fresh and cooked meats, Thai food, plants, jewellery, cheese, preserves, bakery, clothing, shoes, furniture, bespoke wedding and party stationery, balloons, mobile phone accessories, cookshop items, books, lingerie, fancy goods, toys and collectables, craft products, chinaware, haberdashery, household linen and cleaning products, rugs and carpets, mobility products, fabrics, greengrocery, grocery, sweets, curtains, cards, bags and travel accessories, pet foods, small pets and pet accessories, comics, menswear, computer games, computer repairs, mobile phone repairs and electronic repairs, dyson repairs, key cutting, specialist stamps, Florist, fishing bait, eggs, hosiery, footwear, men's haircutting and 2 cafes.
 
Market Drapers
Barrow Indoor Market is proud of the provenance of its local Cumbria produced food. Stallholders offer specialist advise on cuts of meat and are happy to discuss their products and their ingredients.  Many stallholders have a wealth of experience and have been producing and selling fine local food for many years.  Cumbrian specialities offered include:
Waberthwaite Cumberland Sausage and bacon, Wild Boar and Game Pies, Westmorland Cheeses, Cumbrian lamb, port and beef, local free range eggs, duck eggs, Cumberland Smokies, local burgers and sausages, home grown fruit and vegetables, sticky toffee pudding, ice cream, Kendal mint cake, handmade fudge.
 
Tuk's Thai Foods which featured on the Hairy Bikers Christmas Special 2011 offer that exotic touch whilst Aromas is a must for fine teas and coffees.

Outdoor Market

Adjacent to Portland Walk with its major High Street names and Debenhams Department Store is the Market Square, Portland Walk, Barrow's Outdoor Market.  Hot food stalls are now allowed on the Outdoor Market subject to having necessary food hygiene certificates.
 
Open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, it is operated by Barrow Borough Council and stalls can be booked for only £10.75 a day by telephoning the Market Attendants on 07730314684 or 07730314685.  Messages can be left on 01229 876555 or e mailed to markets@barrowbc.gov.uk.
 
Outdoor rents - a standard 10x10 stall is £10.75 a day but if paid in advance on a Wednesday for the 3 market days that week £27.20 per week
a medium outdoor stall is £13.35 a day and if paid in advance for 3 market days £33.60
a corner stall is £15.40 a day.
A Stall on a non market day (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday) is £5.60 a day
