Barrow-in-Furness Crime & Disorder Reduction
Partnership

The Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership is a group
of local organisations including the Police, local councils,
Police, Probation, schools, voluntary and business organisations
working together to reduce crime in the Borough.
The Partnership looks at crime problems locally and has
put together a plan to tackle them. We considered a variety
of information on crime in the Borough to draw out the highest
priority issues.
These are:
The Partnership has established Task Groups for each of these
priority areas. These will work up action plans to take the
issues forward, to find out about each task group, click on the
priority areas above. To arrive at these priorities, and to
understand the concerns of residents, we have carried out surveys
and other consultation work. These are summarised in our
Audit document. The aims and objectives of each task group is
set out in our strategy document which is available on this page in
pdf format.
Using the 2005 crime audit we developed our strategy.
This strategy will take us through to 2008 and sets out our
intentions to reduce crime and disorder and encourage active
citizenship in the Barrow Borough.
