Need information on a legal problem? Want to know who and where your local adviser is? Does it cost anything and can you get financial help? The Community Legal Advice web site can help you.

Community Legal Advice is a free and confidential service paid for by legal aid and is there to help you with your legal problems.

It can help answer queries such as:

• How do I find a solicitor or legal adviser? -
  Search their directory of approved solicitors, advice agencies and information providers.
• What are my rights on...?
  The Community Legal Service Direct publishes free leaflets on key areas of law, such as Employment, Welfare Benefits and Debt.
• Can I get legal aid?
  Use Community Legal Aid eligibility calculator to enable you to work out if you may be entitled to CLS-funded help (that is, civil legal aid).
• CLS have an information line. Callers can get free, confidential help with matters relating to debt, welfare benefits, education, employment & housing by calling 0845 345 4 345.
