What if my card is refused?
Cards are not refused by Barrow Borough Council - they are
refused by your bank. There are many reasons why
this may happen and we suggest you contact your bank directly.
How do you protect my information?
To ensure that your card details remain secure, you will only
be able to make online payments if 128-bit encryption is supported
by your browser.
Internet Explorer 5.5+ and Netscape 5+ support Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) technology, which is an industry standard for Internet
payments. This means all of your personal and card details are
protected using 128-bit encryption when your details are
transmitted over the Internet. This makes it virtually impossible
for anyone else to discover and use your details.
